Mile High Magic At The 24th Mullen Invitational

They say records are meant to be broken.

While Sydnee Larkin's outdoor triple jump state record of 41-7 still stands, it doesn't look like it will for long, because Agur Dwol is inching ever so closely to it.

Dwol's consistency over the past few months has been impressive. She leapt over 41-feet a staggering five times indoors, including a 42-0.75 personal best.

While that mark did surpass Larkin, it was indoors, so the CHSAA record books won't include that one. Regardless, it appears that Dwol is picking up where she left of last year.

The Mullen senior leapt to two state-leading marks Saturday, including a US No. 1 of 41-3 in the triple jump. That's her second consecutive time over 41-feet in two outings this outdoor season, and it leads the country by nearly a foot.

Four inches to tie the record. Five to break it. Six weeks to go.

Add that Dwol also won the long jump in a US No. 3 of 19-5.

The 24th edition of the Mullen Invitational definitely was a high quality meet!
